It's almost as though everyone around the world on New Years Eve had said simultaneously, "2015 was the worst year ever, thank god it's nearly over so we can have a much better 2016!".
And then someone up there said, "... I accept your challenge."
So I guess it's up to all of us to push past what has been a difficult week and a half and not paint the rest of 2016 with the same drab colour. I'm aware of the irony that this is *me* saying this, but I'm fairly sure that we all deserve better than last year. If 2015 taught me anything, it's that we need to make our own luck in life and not take second best anymore.
Say no. Don't put up with sloppy seconds. Demand better. It's not being cheeky, it's how we make it worth our while getting up in the morning.
Lemmy didn't die, he just ported his energy into a form better suited for partying hard. Bowie didn't die, he just went back home after the longest tour of Earth since records began. And I'm sure neither of them would want us to spend the rest of the year grieving when we should be taking their example instead.
We still have the breath in our lungs, so let's be the best bunch of gorgeous, laser enhanced fucking unicorns we can be this year!
